Then and Now

We have a playgroup for working moms that we started when our kids were born. Six moms from the advertising business got together and formed a group and we meet every month switching out at each others homes, we have been doing this for 6 years now. My contribution to the group is birthday portraits for each child every year and what a great measure of time. Here is a photo I shot of three of the girls when they were two and then again yesterday when they all are seven. Can't wait to see what they will look like in another five years.

Kids Grow up

Kids grow up which I guess means we get older too. Never did time start to pass as quickly as when the little people came along. They are a measure of your own aging. My girls are the best things that have ever happened to me. They are the muses that inspire my work.

Winter Time

Winter is my favorite time of the year. I am one of the few that love it when the days grow shorter, the sun more scare and the days cold and snowy. However there is not much snow anymore just cold. This is one of my favorite photos from a few years ago. Taken in Oslo on a very cold and snowy day. It was -20 C on this day but I just had to get this shot and made the whole family suffer.

Birthdays

Birthdays are a time of celebration. So many people don't like celebrating their birthdays but I think that whatever age you are there is a great reason to celebrate. Each year you are alive and have new memories to recall is cause for celebration. In our family birthdays are celebrated with cake, champagne and presents in bed, that is a great start to the day. So raise a glass and toast another year of being alive. Happy Birthday. Gratulerer med dagen.

Foot surgery

All I can think about is sitting on the beach with ice cream and drinks.I just had foot surgery, and don't let anyone tell you it does not hurt because it hurts like hell. I am not a person that likes to sit around so this is a test of patience. Gives me time to re organize all my photos, though the pain pills are so strong they make my brain fuzzy. It is nice to waited on but it also makes you realize how much nicer it is to be able to wait on other people. Like the old saying it is better to give than to receive.

Longing for Summer
On this very cold day (-15C) here in Kansas City I was cleaning up my images and updating all my various websites and I found myself drawn to images of warm and beachy weather longing for a relaxing day on the beach with a drink in hand. Instead I sit in my studio with electric blanket and coco in hand watching the snow.
